Tree House

Tree House is a relaxed building game. Pick a tree, then build, paint and decorate the tree house you always wanted. There is no timer and no score, just a list of dreams to tick off.

How to play

1. Choose an empty slot. You can keep up to three houses, and each one saves itself as you build.
2. Pick a tree: the Old Oak, Tall Pine, Weeping Willow or Big Baobab. Each has its own branches to build on.
3. Choose a piece and tap where it should go. Drag to place a whole row in one stroke.

Pieces need support. Floors rest on a branch, a post, a wall or the floor beside them. Walls, windows and doors stand on a floor. A roof sits on walls or posts. A hint says why when a piece can't go somewhere.

Ladders and posts stretch to fit. A ladder runs from the ground or a floor up to the floor above. A rope bridge ties to a floor, branch or trunk beside it.

Tools

• Build: floors, posts, walls, windows, doors, roofs, ladders, rope bridges and railings. Add lanterns, flags, swings, flowers and telescopes to finish it off.
• Paint: ten colours, or back to natural wood. Wood paints the pieces themselves. Trim paints the frames of doors and windows. Paint a cell again to reach a piece standing in front of a wall.
• Take away: removes the front piece of each cell you tap or drag over. The tree itself stays.

The top bar has undo, a time-of-day button (day, sunset, night) and a camera that saves a picture of your house.

Controls

• Mouse / touch: tap or drag on the tree to use the current tool. On a narrow screen, slide with two fingers, or use the mouse wheel, to see the rest of the yard.
• Keyboard: B build, P paint, E take away, T time of day, Ctrl + Z undo. Esc closes the dream list or photo.

Dreams

The dream list holds 14 goals, such as a rope bridge three pieces long or a flag on a roof. A dream comes true the first time any of your houses meets it. The sparkle button opens the list.

Tips

• Start your first floor on a branch, where the dots show.
• Build the walls before the roof. A roof needs walls or posts under it.
• Hang a lantern, then switch to night to make one dream come true.
• Pick the Old Oak, Tall Pine or Big Baobab if you want a second, smaller tree to bridge across to.
• A mistake is one undo away. Each drag counts as a single step.
