Walk the dark meadow with W, A, S and D. Aim your lantern with the mouse: fireflies drift toward its light. Click to scoop them into your jar. Golden ones are worth 3.
Firefly Jar puts you in a dark meadow at night with a lantern and a jar. You have one minute to catch as many fireflies as you can. Golden fireflies are rare and worth three times as much.
You can only swing within reach. A faint dashed ring around you marks that reach, and it flashes if a swing falls short. After each swing there is a short pause before the next one.
Each one you catch is replaced by a new one, away from where you stand. Trees and the hedge round the edge block your path.
The circle under the mouse pointer shows the jar's mouth. It lights up green when a swing there would catch something. Walking needs a keyboard, so the game asks for one on a touch-only device.
An ordinary firefly scores 1 point and a golden one scores 3. You can catch several at once with one swing. At the end of the round you see how many you caught, how many were golden, and your points.
Your best score is kept on the title card. The leaderboard ranks players by their highest points in a single round, across all time.
